Motivation is great. I think of it as the initial building block of success, that spark to ignite the fire of passion which smolders inside all of us. However, it can only take us so far. You can read as many books and watch as many videos as you want, but what will be there to take its place once the flames begin to dwindle and we slowly sink back into our monotonous routines and self-destructive habits?
Discipline. Our journeys to success start with motivation, with that spark, and end with us reaching our goals. But there’s a lot of space in-between the two. A space full of a lot of difficult, not-so-fun things. That’s where self-discipline comes in. Disciplining ourselves, hardwiring our minds for success. Suddenly, the menial tasks seem less menial, the stressful times more manageable, for we have something else pushing us forward.
