A new year is upon us, and with it, a host of new resolutions. But first, some questions need answering:
What will you achieve?
What dreams will you make a reality?
Who will you bring into your life, and who will you cut out?
What projects will you finish that you have put off for far too long?
What bad habits will you break?
What comfort zones will you escape?
Will you push yourself forward, no matter how tired you are or how dismal the circumstances may seem?
What things will you change about yourself?
Most importantly, will this year be like the last, or a whole new adventure? One where you are willing to take chances you wouldn’t normally take? Where you will travel to places you didn’t even know existed, try foods you’ve never even heard of, experience cultures completely foreign to you, forgive those who have wronged you in the past? Where you will accept yourself for who you are, admit your mistakes, and look to the future, rather than dwell in the past? Where you will redefine what makes you happy, and have the courage to pursue that which does?
Will you turn a new leaf and resolve to fulfill your resolutions? Or will the only thing changing be the date?
“Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” – Barack Obama
