Sometimes we feel alone in our daily battles, and that’s normal. We feel as if no one else understands us, like they can’t relate to us. But then someone or something comes along to remind us that there are about 7.4 billion others sharing our journey, and they’re all in the same boat as us. They all have challenges to face and obstacles to overcome. We’re all trying to stay afloat, keep our heads above water, trying to keep the boat from sinking. Maybe if we helped each other plug their holes, we’d turn around and see that ours too have been plugged up. Because some people have bigger holes than others, and they might need some help plugging theirs. Offer them some help, ’cause it really only takes one hole to sink the boat and put us all in the water.
And that’s a pretty big boat.
“We are all in the same boat, in a stormy sea, and we owe each other a terrible loyalty.” – Gilbert K. Chesterton
